Mechanical Gripper for Robotic Arc Welding. Patent Granted

"We are living in the era of AI where robots are widely used in manufacturing industries for various purposes from manufacturing to packaging of goods. It is because of robots can work faster with minimal errors."

At present robots are used for arc welding purpose where the gripper is operated manually which makes it difficult to remotely operate it. To solve this issue Researchers from  Mechanical Engineering Department Rishabh Chaturvedi, Aman Sharma, Anas Islam and Rohit Sharma under the supervision of Prof. Kamal Sharma, GLA University, Mathura along with Dr. Debanik Roy, scientist in BARC, Mumbai invented a mechanical gripper with controlled operations for robotic arc welding and patent has been granted for this invention. This invention is ready for technology transfer.
