Promoting Financial Literacy: MoU Between GLA University and Bombay Stock Exchange Institute.

In India, it is a dream of almost every 12th student with PCM to Study Engineering from IITs. Lacs of students appear in IIT JEE Exam every year but only several thousand get IITs. UPSC IAS 2020 topper Shubham Kumar did his graduation in Civil Engineering from IIT Bombay. No doubt, he was great in his studies and could have get placed in a multinational company with a package in crores but he chose UPSC. Why? Why did he choose Civil Services?

This is the present scenario in India. The youngsters are preparing for government jobs even after having Professional Degree. In Delhi, if you throw a stone on a crowd, likely it will hit a government job aspirant. New Delhi is a hub of various coaching centers where aspirants from every corner of India come and study in order to get their dream job. There can be many reasons but the most important one is that government jobs have Job Security. Job security leads to financial stability. While private jobs don’t have job security.  We have seen people losing their jobs during Lockdown in the year 2020.

Academic knowledge and skills can help a student getting a decent job but to become financially stable in life, financial management skills are also required.

GLA University, Mathura is sincerely concerned about the future of its students and standing firmly with them. To develop financial management skills among the students, Institute of Business Management, GLA University has signed a MoU with Bombay Stock Exchange Institute.

Prof. Anurag Singh, Director IBM          Prof. Vikas Tripathi, Head, IBM

Dr. Gunjan Sharma. Asst. Professor, IBM (PG) said that under this MoU, the student will learn about Banking, Insurance and Financial Management through training programs, workshops, guest lectures and special short-term courses and will the skills required by the corporate sectors.
