Research on Pigment Strengthening by Chemistry Department, GLA University, Mathura. Patent Granted.

"White, an inherently positive color, is associated with purity and goodness. People often choose for their houses and their work place. It can be seen that the white paint on walls fades away even before its promised age."

Researchers from Chemistry Department, GLA University discovered a process to strengthen the white color (pigment) making it shinier with lower cost. it is a result of months of hard work. The patent has been granted for this process. Dr. Prabal Pratap Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry said that TiO2 is used to make the white paint shinier. The availability of TiO2 is decreasing due to its excessive use. To find the solution to this problem, a team from chemistry department conducted research on issue and synthesized “Microparticles of Kaolin coated Titanium Oxide” by using less amount of TiO2.

Dr. Singh further said that Chemistry Department researcher Deeksha Gupta and Sushmita Pramanik made this research successful under supervision of Prof. Panchanan Pramanik, HoD Pro. D.K. Das and Dr. Yogendra Kumar.

Prof. Anirudh Pradhan, Dean Research and Prof. Kamal Sharma, Associate Dean Research said that this research by Professors of Chemistry Department and grant of the patent for this, is matter of pride for us. This research will encourage the other faculties and the university students to come forward and perform such research work that will solve the real-life problems.
