Swayam-Prabha drive in GLA University, Mathura

COVID-19 has made a huge impact on the world, almost every sector including education sector. Indian education system has changed a lot after emergence of COVID-19. The mode of teaching learning shifted from Onsight to online mode via various video conferencing apps and websites such as zoom, google meet, Microsoft teams etc. which require an internet connection. Unfortunately, internet is still an issue in many parts of India specially in remote areas and the sensitive areas like Jammu Kashmir where internet services were shut down for a long period due to riots in 2019. To solve the problem of availability of internet, Ministry of education has launched Swayam Prabha program and we are delighted to announce that GLA University, Mathura is a part of this revolutionary initiative by Government of India.

The SWAYAM PRABHA is a group of 34 DTH channels devoted to telecasting of high-quality educational programs on 24X7 basis using the GSAT-15 satellite. Every day, there will be new content for at least (4) hours which would be repeated 5 more times in a day, allowing the students to choose the time of their convenience. The channels are uplinkeded from BISAG, Gandhinagar. The contents are provided by NPTEL, IITs, UGC, CEC, IGNOU. The INFLIBNET Centre maintains the web portal.

GLA University has launched 12 courses under Swayam Prabha and are running under super vision of Dean research Prof. Kamal Sharma, Head Dr. Nirbhay Mishra and Co-Ordinator Dr. Kalpana Diwakar.
